The skies were dark and murky, and not a sound or soul in sight was made. Not one star was visible, which he was surprised by, for usually they shined brightest during the darker hours. The only figure that haunted the empty place was the outstretched shadow behind the maker's position, mimicking the one's motions and steps to wherever it'd go. A faint ringing of bugs in the orchard trees created a louder buzzing in his sensitive, immortal eardrums. Ever since the shift, such things could never be compared to what it had once been like when he was unable of these abilities. He had his clean bloodline to thank for that. His shoulders were relaxed and broad, standing neatly at either side of his head and fit into a side-ways turn of his torso, for a diamond-shaped ball held near his stomach, gripped between a set of two hands. Lines were placed along every ten yards to represent distance till both ends, both equaling a total of a hundred yards, a complete length only to contain two long benched stadium seats, two touchdown points, and white lines to divide each portion separately. The grass seemed brand new, shining a wet bright green, even beneath the newly painted dividers. It smelt of the chemical within the paint, which he did not mind usually, but the thought of it still being so strong in his nostrils almost made him sneeze.

Assembling himself, he closed his eyes and began to think, flexing his fingers over the leather covered ball within his grasp as he rolled his head back and then forwards, which created a pleasing pop in the connecting of his upper spine to loosen. ...Throw it.. And there it was. The voice to whom found the pleasure of always being there, sinking and sinking till the darkness was finally drowning it whole within his mind, tempting him to shift and let the madness flow beyond his control like it had every damn full moon the wedged around the corner. The thought of it made his body tingle, but he was disciplined for any sort of that activity to occur while attending his new school alone. He no longer had a brother to depend on being his friend, and going to a real school was far out of his element. Interacting would be easy, it always has been that way for him, but the chance of actually learning to have to like people would be the difficult part. He wasn't good at any of that, and didn't really care. At least he had sports to clear his mind like so, and the night was just the perfect time to be all alone to himself. ...Fucking throw it already... Or so he thought unfortunately. He grumbled and then swayed into the throwing position, reversing his arm to balance the other out near the side until he threw it, freeing the ball to what spiraled like a bullet across the field. He watched it fly. Turning swiftly and fast till it finally reached between the yellow structure's two parallel poles.

A sigh rolled off his tongue as he exhaled proudly for his shot, standing at the field's center just above the school mascot logo; the wolverines. He shook his head slowly at the symbol and then opened his fiery amber and cold aqua eyes completely to reveal their true colors beneath the blinding spotlights used during nightly game events. They were still on, which made him curious to know if anyone had forgotten to either shut them off or simply the fact they could be automatic. Stuffing his hands in his pant pockets, he tucked his open cotton blue and black flannel closer against him as the wind began to whisper down his neck. He thought of retrieving the ball, but he kept still and quiet, settling himself to walk around the football field's center as he tried to dig out his packet of cigarettes out of his pocket and lighter to light up a stick for himself while no one was watching. He had yet to meet the teachers, or his classmates. The upperclassmen seemed to have a lacking amount of numbers, which held no surprise to him, at least then he didn't have to please so many people with his arrogance. Holding the cig at the end of his lips, he sucked lightly, his cheeks caving in as the smoke began to fill his insides before he pinched it from his mouth and blew a puff of a grey cloud into the air surrounding above his head.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Alpha Daiken Fri 4 Apr - 3:09

Blood flew out of the warm flesh and muscles to fill his senses with the iron liquid as his long fangs penetrated his victim’s neck. Turning his black head quickly to one side, the sound of vertebrae cracking and moving out form the spine line made any movement of the poor animal end, just like the sound of his rapid heat beat against its chest. Daiken let go of the cougar and sighed loudly. He had been suffering with no human meat around being that his favorite and primal meal back in New York. He missed that special and unique taste that only humans had, the lack of it just making him more irritated and stressed as time flew by. He would have to learn to survive with ‘normal’ hunts but that was never enough. He even hunted down one of his own kind a week ago. The taste was even better than what he remembered, but maybe that was just the effect of not having eating it for a long time now. Daiken smiled with the thought of turning into a cannibal. He ate wereling before, but since he joined Eternal Darkness that habits had to end as he wasn’t a loner anymore.

The Alpha sighed and leaned down to eat his meal. A carnivorous animal was more similar to human meat because of the ingestion of herbivorous, which ingested fruits and plants. It wasn’t the same, but it was better than a deer or elk. As he ripped off the cat’s muscles and broke his bones with his powerful jaws to then swallow them, he let Slayer take control again. His eyes became darker and his aura changed once more. His wolf was also on the edge after being placed into a diet free of humans. Both never thought that the body they shared was going to make them feel like an addict without the normal life style they once had. If he wanted humans, he would have to travel for quite a long distance, and he couldn’t now that Silas was going to start school, and he being one of the teachers couldn’t take the privilege to skip classes. In fact, the academy was very close from his actual position. Maybe it was going to be a good idea to take a walk around and know more the place before the classes were meant to start.

After some more minutes, Daiken was back in the front line of his mind and Slayer was more calmed and resting now. He cleaned the blood of his paws and snout to then shift back into his human form. A buttoned tint shirt and black pants covered his tattoos and hided the several scars marking his flesh. He slid the hand adorned with a titanium ring and a small emerald inserted in the front over his chest, when Tanken had made that scar decades ago. He couldn’t forget the day it all ended with the help of the Guardian. If he wouldn’t have been there, he would be dead by now. The face of Tanken when he finally realized he couldn’t succeed his last mission of killing his brother, was something that continued annoying Daiken since that day. He never told Noctavia or Ryker about it. They were the ones he held the more confidence from everyone in the pack, but it was of no use now that it all ended. He just hoped that the nightmares could reach an end as well.

A known scent reached his nose as he walked near the football field. Silas. What was he doing here so late? He followed his location until his aqua eyes saw a dark silhouette standing still in the middle of the field. Daiken stopped his tracks and looked at his son quietly. A half-smile reached his lips as he saw the ball flying along the field to make a perfect touchdown. Who would know? Silas was going to be a sports wolf. Daiken was never one to spot. Training and assassinations were what marked his childhood and in that time football was not very known yet. As Silas walked away being then followed by a cigarette’s smoke, Daiken walked towards the ball resting over the neat grass, waiting to be destroyed by the players in the next days. He couldn’t miss the cigarette. He was used to it because of Noctavia but Silas was 16, he wasn’t supposed to smoke yet... Letting out a small growl of leaned down to grip the ball between his fingers. He walked back after Silas and smiled lightly with a new thought in mind. Standing still, he calculated the distance easily and applied the right force for the ball to just fall where he was, not very strong as he didn’t want to hurt or make Silas irritated. Throwing his arm back, he growled loudly for him to hear. “Wolverines!” Daiken threw the ball as Silas turned and right afterwards started walking towards him. He was going to break that cigarette in half right now.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Warrior Silas Fri 4 Apr - 22:05

OOC - Kinda weak for a post. I am typing off a mini iPad.

His eyes narrowed up at the statism bleachers, though he held no purpose for looking there, for he was in complete concentration. Footsteps. And a heartbeat other than his own ticked back and forth, pumping with newly oxygenated blood neared close to his boundaries of comfort. The tip of his nose curled in disgust, along with the other side of his face as he caught a great whiff of whom it was. His father. While taking a longer drag of the smoke, he made sure to this time get a great puff before having to release it quickly back into the air, flicking the ashes off to what reminded him of himself, or perhaps his other body. He had his grandfather to thank for that, unfortunately, though he could not help but sort of like the fact he stood out amongst the rest of his family, just as his brother did. ...He is behind us... Think mother would be mad if we tried to outrun him?... The wolven whispers asked him in a demonic relating tone, to which he assumed wasn't a bad idea the longer he stalled the time, not until the sound of his father's growl sounded the air once after recognizing the school's cover mascot to keep them all hidden. The wind whistled with the turning of the football, which  he took the initiative to reach out and catch it straight on far from his body with one hand. He looked at it with a blank stare, that is until he took it between both hands confidently and watched as he stayed still for his father to finally reach his space. "What are you doing here? Thought you were taking Mom out..." He wondered, slightly tilting his head to at least appear interested, however he really couldn't care less of what their plans were. Just as long as he was alone, was all he cared about, that is, unless something was severely wrong having to do with his packages or his mother. His father was a man, just as he was, he could defend himself, so Silas never took the interest of ever wanting to help his father.

He took the cigarette joint in between his two fingers and held it down near his one hip, letting whatever else it had to trickle off into the green grass to wither into the earth. Silas knew if why his mother never cared to bother him when he smoked in front of her the first time, nor when he asked her if she could buy him some, even though he appeared old enough to get by two years older than he really was in most gas stations, but his father never cared for it it seemed. He frowned upon the idea of the whole thing with smoking at his age, but his mother was no better, and his parents knew what a tough time he was going through now that Castiel had gone off to another part of the country to study medicine. He had to face high school alone now, as well as his parents constantly breathing down his neck, or at least one parent, he should say. He sighed and pinched off the drug before throwing it to the ground and squishing it with his foot before his father could make a lousy comment upon the subject. He didn't want to talk about it, so he hushed up and looked at his father as if nothing was wrong, a talent he had heard within his brother's absence and many girlfriends so that he did not have to tell them what he was feeling or thinking about. Gripping the football lightly, he tried not to puncture his claws out from under his skin and through the leather, for he did not need to loose another ball due to his temperamental issues. He rose his brows in question as he waited impatiently and carelessly for an answer, exchanging small glances to the scenery around him and far beyond that in he the case he had missed something. It was only them, or so he hoped it would be. The last thing he needed was a pretty girl coming up behind him while his father was here to make fun of him, how embarrassing, he thought.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Alpha Daiken Sat 5 Apr - 0:51

Reaching him slowly, he glanced rather tiredly at the ball between his hands. For a moment he thought he wasn't going to catch it and just move to a side to let the ball fall to the ground. He knew what were Silas's feeling towards him, and he also knew the reason. A part of him hoped to change that someday, but he also thought it was to late for that. He wasn't with his family the time he should had, even when he promised that to Noctavia. Slayer never cared about that, about quality time with the family. He wasn't like that before with his first son, but Daiken knew he was avoiding the relationship to stick to his word about not having anymore attachments. His words and attempts to take the control became rougher with their current diet. Making him be more distant with his family. He once feared for their safety because of his brother, and now it was because of him. He could tell Noctavia about this, and he didn't know how to explain his absences to her, and less to his son. With Castiel gone, he had just Silas to look out for, and not even then he cared to be around much. Sighing deeply, Daiken dropped the theme and focused back on Silas.

The smell of tobacco was strong on him, but he didn't have the cigarette anymore. At least he cared to turn it off in his presence knowing he didn't like it much to look at him smoking. But now... Taking a deep breath, Daiken located the souce of the scent and extended his hand towards Silas, slipping it into his pocket. Taking his cigarettes and the lighter, he opened the box and took one out, lighting it up as he covered the flame with his hand so the wind would not turn it off. Inhaling deeply, he took the drug into his lungs and released it now tuerned into white smoke. Daiken gave him back the pack and left the cigarette between his lips. He was not one to smoke but right now he needed anything that could relax him. Nicotine was known to have those properties so it was a good option to try it. "Hope you don't mind..."

Daiken moved to his side and started walking, hoping he would join. "As for your question... I had to deal with some issue, I was going to meet her afterwards but ended up finding you all alone here. Be glad we aren't in New York anymore and there as no crazy loners out there like before. Still... You need to be careful." Daiken sighed and inhaled another mouthful of smoke. "I was going to ask you the same question. What are you doing here this late?" He turned and glanced at him blanckly. He loved his son, but never showed it and he doubted Silas even knew it. He knew he wasn't the best dad of the year or even during his entire life, but he would give his own to protect him, his brother, his mom, and Cadesque. Sighing, Daiken knew he had to change, but by some reason, everything seamed thoughter than before. Before he could answer, the Alpha looked at his son and smiled painfully at him. "I'm sorry... For not being the father you deserve." He turned again and kept walking, inhaling once more the nicotine into his lungs to then release it slowly in a sigh.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Warrior Silas Sun 6 Apr - 23:06

"Not at all... Go ahead." In disbelief, with little to prove his emotions, Silas kept quiet and patient as he watched his father take one of the cigarettes and light it up for a quick puff. He was never much of a smoker, or so he thought, but the teenager was never able to keep up with the misguided secrets the pack told of both his mother and father. There were both rumors and truths being whispered with the quiet wind, but of those secrets, he was incapable of hearing them all at once to know what was happening while he stood there - alone and unconditionally lost. ...You don't believe him.. And so the wolf was correct, somewhat that is, but at this point, Silas never knew what to believe anymore. He didn't know who to trust, care for, or even want to know better about - that including his own parents and guardians. As much as he loved the ones that helped him thus far, now was a time of finding independence in himself, and what more of a way to find it then placing him elsewhere with wherever the wind guided him? These questions would most likely never be answered by another from himself, which lead him to the opportunity of finally beginning his journey on where he belonged. The ranks of high school did nothing to scare him, he knew he would fit in just fine with the crowd, and more than likely lead if, for his blood did enough of that alone to control his ambitions. He shrugged simply by the question, "Fresh air mostly. Figured it'd be about time I start practicing before football tryouts." Silas smirked and took a single step back to lean on the end of his heels slightly, "I have to impress the ladies somehow on my first day. Hell, maybe I'll find a keeper.. this time." He joked.

And then another statement rolled from his father's tongue, his tone sympathetic and honest, though there was not much to clarify his suspicions towards why now he was apologizing. Silas stuffed his hands in his jean pockets and rolled his neck around to stall the time, finally coming to an end where the joins formed and popped pleasingly once more to which relieved his muscles in his upper back. "It's okay, Dad. I'm used to it." His smiled folded into a flat line as his announced it so bluntly to his other blood half. Daiken, his father, was probably the only man his mother would ever smile the most to, and with that, Silas could not be any happier with having him and his mother as his parents to support him. That's all that mattered, he thought. "I may deserve a better father, but maybe I don't. I don't know, but whatever it is, I just want Mom to be happy. I'm almost eighteen in a couple more years, then I won't be your little boy anymore where you have to worry about being home some times or whatever.. You're a great dad, most of the time, so don't let yourself feel bad about it..." He wasn't the best at being reasonable with people in these sorts of situations, never was. This was the point in life where his mother believed would be the hardest for him, for he was not immune to attending a school with more of their kind, or individuals in general, that is. Getting along and staying out of fights was going to be his issue throughout high school, he knew it, and so did his parents, he thought, how else was he going to prove his dominant abilities over petty others. This was to be his new kingdom now, and he will command them to praise him like they would if he were king.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Alpha Daiken Wed 9 Apr - 0:15

He loved the fact that Silas was so close to Noctavia. He knew that if something happened to him, Silas was the only one he really trusted to take care of her, except from Ryker. Not that she needed someone to protect her, but he was also going to make sure she was okay, and happy. Just like Silas said. "Well... I still have two years right?" He teased lightly taking another suck of his cigarette, holding in the smoke to then release it slowly making a white cloud in front of him. Turning again he looked at his son's eyes as he own remained aqua. It turned impossible now to watch that amber color in the Alpha's eyes. Since he killed Tanken and presence of his sons' births, by some reason his eyes remained aqua, including Slayer's. "Don't worry, Silas. I will not be behind you with every step you take, I never had. If you get into fights or fail a class it will be your problem." In fact, he was going to be proud of him if he hears he manages to break the snout of someone trying to pick it on him. Being the son the one of the alpha pair wasn't always a good thing. But if someone from inside or outside the campus ever tried something against him to just get to him or Noctavia, then he was going to take the matter in his hands. "You are right. But no matter your age or what happens, you are always going to be my son. I promised your mother to take care of you, your brother, and her, along with the pack. That's a promise I intend to keep until I stop breathing."

Daiken turned and keep walking along the field waiting to his son to match his pace. Finishing his cigarette, he turned it off with his fingers and throw it into the grass to cover it slightly with his foot. Glancing at the moon over them, he sighed finally feeling more relaxed than before. "How is your whole transformation going? Your relationship with your wolf?" With that Slayer chuckles lightly. They always had a strong bond, until this last weeks. It seamed like if Slayer was getting tired of Daiken controlling everything. He really hated the fact that he has been limited from his usual alimentation. It was amazing how a wild animal could react to such a simple change. He wondered if Noctavia ever had that problem. Maybe he should inform her about his problem, he should as she was her mate, but again, he didn't want to worry her or cause her more work that what she already had with the pack and now the classes starting.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Warrior Silas Sun 13 Apr - 16:22

Watch yourself. Slow down and reread what you type.

"I see.. well, you won't have to be worrying about that so soon anymore. I'll be training enough daily to keep up with the pack and begin work pretty soon, if not, I'll be off for football games and such. Mother can handle herself, we've always known that, all of us." Silas could have sworn that there was a fault in this conversation. His father seemed unsettled with the idea of being away for long amounts of time, like as if he knew something was coming, or that if he were to be gone once more, they'd all be dead by the time he returned out of the dark again. He did not laugh at the attempt Daiken made in pressing a joke, for it really wasn't all that humorous to him at all, but it made him tilt his head and narrow his eyes in slight confusion. He then began to emerge into a mild stroll, as if he were motioning him indirectly to follow. This did nothing for him, as Silas never followed anyone unless it was in dire need of his assistance, this however, was a whole different scenario. He did not have to be his father's side example and keep observing while he ranted about something off the top of his mind. The wolfly figure within bristled his ashen speckled fur upon his neck in irritation and huffed at the fatherly actions the Alpha gave off, squashing his intentions into the floor effortlessly while he was not looking. While watching his father pinch off the cigarette and peer up towards the heavenly glowing moon above, the teenager's eyes slowly trailed behind to see what was so amazing about it, but it was nothing. His bi-colored eyes reflected tiny circles of the moon's image in the corner of his pupils, blinking twice before registering the amount of light it gave off as it finally adjusted quickly enough.

His large, inner self stood on all tall fours as his father erupted the discussion upon shifting and his relationship with himself. As he was not looking, Silas simply rolled his eyes and slightly gripped the football with the tips of his claws before Daiken turned back to see him. ..Tell daddy we're the best of friends... I bet he's looking forwards to hearing that out of our mouth.. This made his muscles in his back contract and tense together, his jaw locking into place as it fought to keep down the growl bubbling inside from escaping towards the Alpha male. He meant no disrespect upon talking about it, but it was complicating to explain what was going on half of the time inside him, so he shrugged and took in a large inhale of fresh air before speaking, "It's alright.. Kinda hard to describe, but we're cool, I guess. He.. or I..uh.. mean it, is kinda annoying sometimes, but whatever. Mom says I should get used to it, so I have no choice.." As his whispering wolf snickered and stood backwards on his paws, Silas sighed and stuffed his hands into his back pockets and did the same on his heels. The air was becoming strangely thin and hard to speak, for the male almost wished to head home, or be alone, maybe run off and cause some trouble before the night turned to dawn. It wouldn't be that hard, but the thought of it angering his father would only make it worse if Daiken reported it to mother. He was already deep enough in his own grave as it was, he didn't need any more problems stacked on his shoulders before football season came up.

This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open] Empty Re: This Ain't No Place for Animals [Open]

Post by Alpha Daiken Thu 24 Apr - 21:05

The Alpha turned and looking at his son. He hoped he could do anything to ease any difficulty he could have with his wolf, but right now he wasn’t in the position for that. He even started to think that Slayer could take the control and do whatever he wished at any moment, including hurting his own pack or a member of Venantium. Slayer could feel his uneasiness like always. His growl slowly turned into a snarl that just made Daiken angrier, snarling back at him with fury as his eyes turned darker. He looked away to prevent his anger to be seen by Silas, but he was a smart boy and surely felt the tension in the air he was creating. Pathetic. The Alpha having problems controlling his wolf like this. Letting the air trapped in his lungs to scape, he was able to breathe again trying to relax. ‘Damn it, Slayer. Could you please calm down for once?!’ He was worse than when Tanken was alive. He hoped that after having him dead then everything would be better, not just with Noctavia and the pack’s safety, but also in his relationship with Slayer. He hoped he would return to be the same as when they were kids, but now he understood that that wolf was now dead, just like the kid that once had long and entertaining conversations with that same beast like they were best friends. Daiken huffed annoyed with the idea of an exhausting life with his own wolf.

His hands reached out to rub his neck. His tensed muscles started to cause him pain, just increasing his irritation. He probably should just leave and return home to take a shower and sleep a bit. He needed rest, and he needed his mate. The thought of Noctavia made him sigh and relax slightly. He hoped she would be home for now. “You are right, Silas. He is part of you now and you will never change that. But you have the choice if to control him, or let the wolf take over. Be careful. If you need anything just call me or your mother. I assume you already learned how.” He glanced at him, his eyes still dark aqua, almost evil, as Slayer’s eyes looked to Silas like if he couldn’t accept the fact he was also his son. Daiken couldn’t stop himself to think if that words, about being careful, were about his transformation, other werewolves, or Slayer. He never let Slayer take control when he was with Silas or Castiel. It worried him he could do something he will then regret. His wolf’s actions were his responsibility, just like his family’s safety. Turning again, he continued walking to their home’s direction. “Goodnight Silas.”
